Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between mean, median, and mode?+
The mean is the sum divided by the count (the everyday "average"). The median is the middle value when the numbers are sorted, which resists outliers. The mode is the most frequently occurring value. Together they describe a data set more completely than any one alone.
What if there is no mode?+
If every number appears exactly once (all values are distinct), there is no mode and the calculator shows "none". If several values tie for most frequent, all of them are listed.
How do I enter my numbers?+
Type or paste numbers separated by commas, spaces, or new lines. The calculator ignores blanks and parses each valid number, so pasting a column from a spreadsheet works.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?+
No. The numbers you enter are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to a server.
